What information does The Giant Peach need when a customer places an order?
When a customer places an order over our web site, we will ask for your payment method preference, credit card account number and expiration date (if applicable), name as it appears on your credit card, the CVV code on the back of the card, "bill to" address, "ship to" address if different from the billing address, phone number, and e-mail address. The information is stored (with the exception of the credit card information) in your user profile to make the checkout process easier and more exact. You will be able to modify your profile at any time to reflect any changes in your account.
Our customers should feel confident that the above personal information is transmitted over secure servers. This information is necessary to properly process your order. Our systems limit access to this information only to employees who may need it to process your order. To complete a credit card transaction, the pertinent credit card information is securely forwarded to our credit card processor for authorization.
How The Giant Peach Handles Privacy Internally
We use industry-standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers where appropriate. Nevertheless, absolute security does not yet exist on the Internet. We transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer. Account information is accessible only by our customer service team on an "as-needed" basis and engineers who occasionally perform database back-ups to ensure integrity.
Your Privacy Choices
You always have options on our site. You can opt in to or out of any of our e-mail lists. If you'd like to get on an e-mail list, simply go to that area and sign up. If you'd like your name to be taken off, follow the "unsubscribe" directions in any e-mail you receive from us.
