Space Funk is one of the greatest tracks to have come out of the 70s period. It was written by the instrumental funk group Manzel and has been sampled countless times and with good reason too, the backward drums at the onset are the kind that appear in producers dreams. There were many other space funk groups that came out of the 70s (Parliament, Mandre) with some dipping into jazz, rock and disco. Dam-Funk is an heir to this tradition of the space funk, as is all the boogie and space disco that has been infecting the dance floors of the last few years. This design is for the funk scholars, the galactic junkies, the boogie and disco freaks, and for those who just dig NAVY a good beat.
101 takes inspiration from various genres and cultures, showing influences from classic designers of the 60's & 70's such as Alexander Girard, Milton Glaser and others. Combined with an extensive background in music related design, the outcome shows a unique positive energy, color balance and treatments.
